My name is Marian Pentek, and I’m the person behind Face of Thunder.
I’ve worked with visual design for over 25 years. My experience spans illustration, graphic design, photography and visual development for both creative and technical projects.
What draws me to metal is not just intensity. It’s the sense that the music opens something - a threshold to older, darker places that don’t fully belong to this world.
Uncharted realms. Forgotten presences. Forms that feel as if they have waited long before the first note was played.
Face of Thunder exists to give those impressions a body.
⚡ What I Do
I create original metal artwork centered on atmosphere and presence.
Not illustrations that merely match a genre, but figures and symbols that feel unearthed rather than invented.
For bands that want to look as strong as they sound. If your music calls something from the depths — I’ll forge it.
🎨 How I Work
Most ideas start on paper. I search for form, presence, and character before I think about rendering.
Each custom piece is built from the ground up - concept, composition, symbolism and final atmosphere are developed around the band, not pulled from a template.
Digital finishing tools are part of the workflow, but they never replace the idea. If the image does not work in its raw form, no effect will save it.
